On May 5, 2023 the "Academic City Foundation, was officially established with approval of the government of the Republic of Armenia, following the passage of a dedicated bill to support its creation. Registered as a non-governmental organization, the foundation serves as the primary entity overseeing the development, management, and strategic implementation of the Academic City project, ensuring its alignment with national priorities in education, research, and innovation.
The Academic City Masterplan, developed by gmp Architekten, outlines a visionary educational and innovation hub in Yerevan, Armenia, spanning 580 hectares. Combining modern campuses, research facilities, and cultural spaces, it is designed as a 24/7 active, inclusive, and sustainable environment, fostering national and international collaboration.
This charter outlines the mission, governance structure, and operational framework of the Academic City Foundation, established to oversee the development and management of the Academic City project in Armenia.
